Serves 6

Ingredients
2 lbs Fish 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric
2-3 whole Garlic cloves, crushed slightly Salt - to taste
1 Green Chillies 1/2 cup Coconut Milk
4 tablespoons Tamarind past 1 Green Chilli slit lengthwise and a pinch of asasfoetida
2 teaspoons Garlic paste 3 tablespoons Oil
2 teaspoons Red Chilli Powder

Method

  1. Marinate fish in the garlic paste, red chilli powder, turmeric, tamarind paste and salt for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat the oil in a pot.
  3. Add the asafoetida, garlic cloves and green chilli.
  4. Add the marinated fish.
  5. Cook the fish until it is almost cooked.
  6. Now add the coconut milk.
  7. Bring the mixture to one boil.
  8. Simmer for 3-4 minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro leaves.
  9. Serve hot with plain rice.
