Serves 4

Ingredients
Rava (semolina) 1 cup Salt 1 tbsp or to taste
Onion 1/2 Sugar 1 tsp
Potato 1/4 Chopped coriander leaves
Ginger small piece or 1/2 tsp grated Ghee 2 tsps
Grated fresh coconut 3 tbsps

For seasoning

Ingredients
Oil 3 tbsps Black gram (urad dal) dal 1 tsp
Peanuts 2 tbsps Red dry chilli 2
Turmeric powder Curry leaves few
Mustard seeds 1 tsp Asafoetida a pinch

Method

  1. Roast rava in a low flame. Keep aside and allow it to cool. Cut onion and potato into small pieces.
  2. Heat 3 tbsps of oil in a heavy bottom pan and add all the seasoning ingredients one by one.
  3. Allow mustard seeds to splutter. Add onion fry till it becomes translucent.Then add potato fry for few minutes.
  4. Add 1 1/2 cup of water and cover the lid. Bring it to boil and let potato to cook nicely. Mix grated ginger, salt and sugar.
  5. Turn heat to low flame. Add roasted rava little by little and keep stirring while adding, so that there will not be any lumps. Close the lid and cook for few minutes.
  6. Garnish with coriander leaves and grated coconut. Drizzle ghee on it and serve hot.
